R.I.P Daisy

After many excited weeks waiting for Daisy to have her second litter it ended very sadly. She had managed to give birth to two babies, but then came into a bit of trouble and there was nothing that could be done. The emergancy vet was called, but by the time we heard back from them, Daisy had passed away. We are hoping that Grog will look after her little brothers/ sisters as she is still with her little ones. We are both very sad to have such a lovely guinea pig go, and she will be very much missed.

R.I.P

Good morning Grog

Just over an hour ago I went to check on the piggies, and saw Grog sitting down with 4 little bums sticking out from under her. It's nice to see that all 4 are well as her last litter contained 1 baby, and she was quite large this time round.

Bab's Babies

Not long after Oreo, Bab's decided to join in the mothers club once again. This time she has had 2 babies which are of a larger size than Oreo's little ones. They were born during Saturday afternoon, just before being cleaned out. Both appear to be very healthy.

On Wednesday afternoon we were greeted by a few sets of eyes peeking out with Oreo. Over the past few weeks she had been growing very large, and there were a few worries as her last litter only contained two boys. Due to these worries we had been keeping an extra close eye on her as her due date was drawing extremley close.

After the long wait she had a total of 6 babies, but sadly 2 were still born. We tried for 15mins to revive the 2 little ones, but thought it best after no responce to leave them in peace. Out of the remaining 4  there was 1 which was very unstable and was holding thier head to one side. After seeing that it had no luck in walking by itself, and Oreo being harrassed by 3 others, we thought it best to take it away from the others to make sure it got fed. We put the little one in a warm box, and after us giving it a few feeds using kitten milk it had become more stable, and it's head had straightened out. Later on in the evening we reintroduced it back to Oreo while keeping a close eye on them all.

It is now 2 days on and all 4 babies are doing very well. Photos have now been added onto our Nursery page, including thier newly chosen names.

RIP - Twist

After just four short weeks, Twist...very sadly has passed away. There appears to be no reason why, and he has been acting as normal. After such a long time of Marsha trying to have a litter, things still don't seem to be looking up for her.

Mother Marsha

After a long year of Marsha having no litters we thought it best to rehome her where she could get more attention, despite how much she would be missed with her constant talking. We had a bit of interest, but I had noticed the day before that she had hair loss on her tummy. So the ad was removed so we were able to keep an eye on her. Two days later we were surprised to find a mini Marsha who has already proven to be as bold as her mum.

Farewell Fidget

We have both decided that for now it would be a good idea to downsize, so after looking at who we had we chose to hand fidget over to my niece, Paige. She originaly owned Fidgets dad, Ginny who recently passed away. As Fidget hadn't coped too well with her litters a new home seemed best where we are still able to see her. We are both missing her lots but know she is getting lots of cuddles. xx

Not so Groggy!

A few hours ago Grog finaly had her first litter with Buttons. A complete chocolate agouti boar, now named Cocoa. We couldn't of asked for a sweeter start.

A sweet start for Oreo

Last night it was the turn of Oreo to have her first litter. After being paired with Midas, we were blessed with two boars. Both of which are mianly chocolate in colour, but have a bit of gold too.

The first to be born was Perky, who has a few small spikes, and the second was Pinky who is smooth. They are both doing very well, and will both be up for sale in the next few weeks if they are healthy.

A Christmas Miracle

Ten days ago while feeding and watering the piggies, Tonya asked me who was in the hutch with Fidget. Well of course I answered with, "No one!" to which I got a responce of, "There is. There's something in with Fidget!!!". I bent down to have a look and right in the back corner was a little brindled ball of fluff!

So we have the lovley surprise of a little boar this christmas who has been named Jesus. After she didn't look after her first litter that dark and cold night I really should have thought twice about putting her back in with Byron while I was in a blind panic, trying to give the babies some life. Needless to say, Jesus was totaly unexpected, but we are over the moon to see that she can be a good mum.
